UC San Diego has remained a top competitor in the CWPA Southwest Division. The Tritons are coming in determined to claim a spot in the National Championships. The team displayed a lot of talent and teamwork, but came up short in the 2016 Southwest Division Championship losing to San Diego State University. Each player contributes an even amount of skill and drive, so the team works extremely well together in executing a powerful offense and defense. This year, the Tritons are lead by Macey Rafter (Captain) and Hannah Caskey (Captain), while Natalie Popescu, Cathleen Nyguen, Katie Archer, Jessica Iacovelli, Clara Woods, Taylor Arnett, Natalie Le, Sandhya Sriram, McKenzie Nelson, Cami Cunningham, Madison Williams, and Alenoush Aslanian return to hold down a strong offensive and defensive line.
UCSD Women’s Water Polo Tryouts Fall 2016
Try outs will be on the first Thursday when classes begin, September 22nd 2016 from 7:30-9:30PM at Canyonview Pool.
UC San Diego Women’s Club Water Polo had their first qualifying tournament of the season this past weekend February 25-26th in their home pool at Canyonview. This weekend, January 21st and 22nd, UC San Diego Women’s Club Water Polo traveled to UC Davis to get some extra practice before the start of their conference season in February. The Tritons had their first tournament of the 2016-2017 season at San Diego State on November 19th-November 20th. Southwest Division Championship 4/9-4/10 The Women’s Club Water Polo team entered the Southwest Division Championships with a second place standing and the desire to win.
