Home Turf Domination Edition: League Tourney, UCSD

On this past blazing hot weekend, our Triton ladies dominated in their first home tournament of the season. They came with fire this sunny weekend and dominated the entire weekend, showing their strength, sportsmanship, and resilience every second in and out of the water. Every single player was able to contribute in many ways and showcase their strengths and skills in the pool.

Our UCSD A team came with crazy intensity the entire weekend, showing their dominance on their home turf. They came out undefeated (4-0). They played a phenomenal game against U of A (17-4), in which almost every person put a point on the board. They came out on top again with an incredible win against SDSU A (9-6) demonstrating their ability to work as a unit and communicate throughout the entire game even with a slow start. They also came out (15-3) against ASU B and (13-1) USD. The Triton ladies were able to hold off their competition the entire weekend and demonstrate their skills as a team. All players put points on the board with Gaia Hinds coming on top with 15 goals, Natalie Kaplanyan a close second with 8 goals. The entire team also showed up with their defense, collectively adding 48 steals as a team and 15 ejections/5 M drawn.

Our UCSD B team came back with even more amazing skills and intensity this tournament as well. They demonstrated that despite how young of a team they are, they are still just as much of a threat and all other teams better beware while playing them on their turf. They came in with some heat and dominated against ASU B (12-7). They put up a solid fight against tough opponents GCU (1-10), SDSU A (2-18), and SDSU B (8-14). They showed their strength through their amazing defense with a whooping 26 cumulative steals and 17 ejections drawn. Hanna Bush came out on top with 9 goals, Olivia Schoos 6, and Nelly 4.

Our Triton ladies came in with some heat on their home turf and earned their place as one of the top seeds in the league. Stay tuned to catch them dominating on their home turf in part 2 for league champs!
