The UC San Diego Lady Tritons are getting ready for their upcoming tournament this month against the rest of the Southwest Division. Training about 4 times a week now, the women are taking advantage of every opportunity they get to practice. Today, the Lady Tritons took on the Sunset Masters as one of their practices. The Sunset Masters team is comprised of graduated NCAA Division I athletes as well as some graduated seniors from our club team. With years of developed technique and experience, the Sunset Masters played an extremely competitive game. Ultimately, the score was 2-18, but the Lady Tritons did not feel defeated. This scrimmage was a learning experience for everyone who participated and it helped them gain perspective on what they need to work on for the upcoming weeks. Cathleen “Pup” Nguyen and Taylor “Potayto” Mathis were able to get points on the board with quick shots against the Masters team. We are planning to scrimmage them again with our full team next month. In 3 weeks, the Lady Tritons are off on their first league tournament at San Diego State University!
