Worldwide for both men and women, Field Hockey is the second most popular sport after soccer. Field Hockey has greatly expanded in recent years on both coasts of the United States providing people of all ages with more competitive playing opportunities.
The UCSD Field Hockey Team is a member of the Western Collegiate Field Hockey Conference, which consists of teams hailing from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Santa Barbara, Santa Clara University, Chico State University, UC Davis, University of Southern California, Claremont McKenna College, and occasional out-of-state teams as well.
