It's A Good Evening For UCSD Field Hockey
Under the sun or moon, UCSD remains undefeated against every other SoCal college. In the first ever evening game of the season for UCSD, the Tritons faced off against the USC Trojans at 7pm. As the sun set upon San Diego, Trojans and Tritons took their starting lineup but no one was ready for the ferocious nature of UCSD. With every accidental ball turnover from UCSD, the Tritons took it back. With every free hit USC receives, UCSD is ready and forms a defensive wall. With every failed trapping by USC, UCSD capitalized on their mistake. No matter how hard USC tried to score a goal, they could not pass newcomer Dillan Selitsch, who made it impossible for the Trojans to even get near the goal. Then comes newcomer Georgia Madden! After playing field hockey as a midfielder for so many years, her high level of experience was put to great use on the field as she maintained control of the ball while speeding down the field. Last but certainly not least, captain Marissa Garcia playing as link perfectly set up the foundations to score a goal. After easily dodging and eliminating the enemy team’s defenders, she placed trust in her team which led to the highest number of goals recorded this season so far, 5 to 0. Despite half of the field hockey season being over, UCSD remains joyful as there is still a whole other half season of field hockey to enjoy.
