The UC San Diego Women’s Club Water Polo team is thrilled to kick off the 2025–2026 season!

Founded in 2007, our program has grown into one of the strongest in the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s Southwest Division, which includes UC Irvine, San Diego State, Arizona State, University of Arizona, and Grand Canyon University. With more than 40 athletes, we field both an A Team, competing at the highest division level, and a B Team, established in 2015 to develop players and provide valuable game experience.
The A Team has earned national recognition with appearances at the Collegiate Club Nationals in 2018, 2022, and 2024, finishing in the top five each time, and closed out the 2025 season ranked 4th in the nation after an undefeated regular season.
The B Team continues to build depth for the program, achieving strong results in regional tournaments while supporting the growth of newer players.
More than just competition, our club is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where athletes become leaders in and out of the pool. We welcome everyone whether you’re an experienced player or new to the sport and offer opportunities to compete, grow, and be part of a community built on teamwork, resilience, and Triton pride.

Our season runs from Fall quarter through mid-Spring, with tournaments starting in the fall. Practices are held at the Canyonview Aquatic Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 – 10:00 PM, with additional sessions on Sundays from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. New players are always welcome to drop in for a few practices and see if our team is the right fit

2/28/26 - Second League Tournament at ASU

2/14-15/26 - League Tournament

The Tritons competed in their first league tournament of the season over Valentine’s Day weekend, with both A and B teams playing four games each. On Saturday, February 14, each team played three games. Read More>>

 

2/1/26 - Scrimmage against Cal Tech

The Tritons were invited to Caltech over the weekend for a scrimmage against the team. Traveling to Pasadena, the A and B teams came together to put up a strong fight against the Beavers. Read More>>

5/3/24 - CWPA National Collegiate Club Championship

The UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo team flew out to Texas A&M on Thursday, May 2 in order to compete in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Collegiate Club Championship (NCCC). They showed their best in 4 games across 3 days, which earned them the title of 3rd best team in the nation! Read More>>

 

4/19/24 - League Tournament 2 at Arizona State University

The Tritons braved the heat this weekend by traveling out to ASU for their second league tournament of the season. They played well and used it as an opportunity to prepare for the Southwest Division Championship, which is this upcoming weekend! Read More>>

 

2/17/24 - League Tournament 1 at University of Arizona

A-team had an undefeated weekend going 4-0 against ASU (11-7), UofA(21-4), SDSU A (11-6), and GCU (9-0). Some team highlights include 8 goals respectively by both Natalie Kaplanyan and Tania Frank, followed closely by Julia Derunes with 6 goals over the weekend. Natalie Kaplanyan and Daphne Neilan were huge assets for our team defensively, with 12 and 11 steals respectively. Read More>>

 

2/2/24 - Davis Invite

The Tritons flew up to Davis this weekend to play a total of 8 games. The A team once again had a 4-0 weekend. First, they faced the Guachos. Goalie Story Waxman blocked a penalty shot and the sprinters won all 4 sprints. The final score against UCSB A was 9-6. Then, they took on SDSU, ending the game 15-8. 1/21/24 - Triton Invite

The UCSD Tritons, along with 8 other teams, powered through a total of 26 games this weekend – rain or shine - at the Triton Invite. The UC San Diego B team started off the weekend strong with a 10-4 victory against the University of Washington B team. Taylor Humphreys scored 3 of these 10 goals.
