5/3/24 - CWPA National Collegiate Club Championship

The UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo team flew out to Texas A&M on Thursday, May 2 in order to compete in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Collegiate Club Championship (NCCC). 4/19/24 - League Tournament 2 at Arizona State University

The Tritons braved the heat this weekend by traveling out to ASU for their second league tournament of the season. They played well and used it as an opportunity to prepare for the Southwest Division Championship, which is this upcoming weekend! Read More>>

2/17/24 - League Tournament 1 at University of Arizona

A-team had an undefeated weekend going 4-0 against ASU (11-7), UofA(21-4), SDSU A (11-6), and GCU (9-0). Some team highlights include 8 goals respectively by both Natalie Kaplanyan and Tania Frank, followed closely by Julia Derunes with 6 goals over the weekend. Natalie Kaplanyan and Daphne Neilan were huge assets for our team defensively, with 12 and 11 steals respectively. Read More>>

2/2/24 - Davis Invite

The Tritons flew up to Davis this weekend to play a total of 8 games. The A team once again had a 4-0 weekend. First, they faced the Guachos. Goalie Story Waxman blocked a penalty shot and the sprinters won all 4 sprints. The final score against UCSB A was 9-6. Then, they took on SDSU, ending the game 15-8. 1/21/24 - Triton Invite

The UCSD Tritons, along with 8 other teams, powered through a total of 26 games this weekend – rain or shine - at the Triton Invite. The UC San Diego B team started off the weekend strong with a 10-4 victory against the University of Washington B team. Taylor Humphreys scored 3 of these 10 goals. 11/8/24 - UC Irvine Fall Invitational

The UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo team is so thankful for all these preseason tournament opportunities, including the latest Irvine Fall Invitational right before Thanksgiving. The B team had some tough matchups against the best club teams in the country– but remained composed throughout the weekend. 11/5/23 UCSD One-Day Tournament

This past weekend the UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo team hosted a One-Day Tournament in sunny San Diego. Many local college and master teams came out for a great weekend of waterpolo. Both UCSD A and B teams played tough matches with UCSD B team going 0:2 and UCSD A 1:1. Read More>>

10/21/23 - Aztec Invitational

This past weekend the UCSD women’s club water polo team ventured into SDSU territory to compete in the Aztec Invitational. This was the first time the newly formed A and B teams were able to get some action playing together, and it was impressive. Read More>>

4/23/23- Southwest Division Championship

This past weekend the A and B teams both traveled to San Diego State University to compete in the CWPA Southwest Regional Championship. The teams were seeded 2nd and 5th respectively. Following the first games, the team honored the graduating seniors. Read More>>

4/16/23- Home League Tournament

This past weekend, the Tritons had the exciting opportunity to play at our home pool at Canyonview Aquatic Center. This important league tournament would decide the seeding for the following weekends’ CWPA Southwest division championship tournament.  Read More>>

2/5/23- Davis Invite

This past weekend, both the A and B teams traveled to Davis, California to compete at University of California, Davis. Both teams battled hard all weekend and came out victorious even through the wind and rain. With just 3 weeks left until league games start, the teams were excited to play together and see what they could do. Read More>>

11/20/22- Triton Invite

Coming to the end of fall quarter, the Women’s Club Water Polo Team put on the event of the season. Inviting teams from all across the country, the Triton Invite was a huge success. The program brought two teams to compete this weekend on their home turf. These would be the first collegiate games for many athletes. Read More>>

10/16/22- SDSU Invite Recap

Starting off the season strong, the UC San Diego Women’s Club Water Polo team attended the Aztec Invite at San Diego State University. 5/9/22- UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo Team Takes on Alabama

The UCSD Women’s Club Water Polo (WCWP) team began their road to the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship (NCCC) by beating out the other teams in the their division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) in their home pool on April 23 and April 24. Read More>>

Back in Business: La Verne and Chapman Scrimmages

The UCSD Lady Tritons came back from a restful winter break and they are starting to prepare for the upcoming tournaments. With some new faces and skills in the water, the Lady Tritons have a bright and competitive season ahead of them. Cathleen “Pup” Nguyen was promoted to captain recently and under her leadership with Gaia “Killer Queen” Hinds, they will pave the path for the rest of this team to go to nationals. In order to prepare for the upcoming tournaments, the team travelled to Los Angeles and Orange County to play a scrimmage against University of La Verne and Chapman University. UCI Invitational

The Lady Tritons had an eventful start to their season this early November as the squad of 2 teams travelled to UC Irvine to compete in their first invite of the year. Although the team split into ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams, the teams were mixed to test team dynamics and increase the teams familiarity with new teammates.

Head Strong

After a well-deserved spring break from the treacherous academic quarter, the UC San Diego Lady Tritons fought hard against their rivals on their home turf. Overall, the UCSD B team played very well and cohesively. The dynamic and comradery of the team showed greatly in the pool, defeating their exhibition game against the University of San Diego (12-5). Regional Tournament #1 at Arizona State University

In their first league qualifying tournament of the season, the UC San Diego Lady Tritons fired over to Arizona State University to compete against the other teams in the Southwest division. During the fiery weekend, the UCSD B team won two games against ASU (8-7) and San Diego State B (9-4) — with great remarks against their game against University of California, Irvine (6-7).
