Lacrosse – M

Lacrosse is a fast paced and hard hitting mix of football, hockey, and basketball and is arguably the most popular spectator sport at UCSD. We compete in the MCLA Division I against opponents such as Michigan, Colorado State, Cal, Stanford, and Southwestern Lacrosse Conference rivals such as Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego State, UCLA, and USC.

Our team has been ranked nationally as high as the top 10 and competed in 2 national championship tournaments in the last 5 years. During that time we have had three first team All-Americans. As a testament to the UCSD Lacrosse program and its coaches, two of those 1st team All-Americans had never played lacrosse before UCSD, and the other had just 2 years of prior lacrosse experience.

We have a fall pre-season (practice 3x a week and 2-3 tournaments). Our regular season is in the Winter quarter and the beginning of the Spring quarter (practice 5x a week, with a 13 game regular season plus playoffs). We have traveled in the past to play out of conference teams in Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, and Seattle. This year our Spring break trip is to Las Vegas to play against UNLV and UCLA.

Our alumni network includes highly successful doctors, lawyers, business men, teachers, PhD Scientists, and Engineers. So many of our alumni attribute their success beyond UCSD in large part to their experience on the UCSD Lacrosse team.

There is nothing more fulfilling than giving your full effort towards a championship goal and working towards it with 30 of your closest friends.

So if you are dedicated, athletic, and team minded (lacrosse experience is a huge plus, but not required) and want to get a true student-athlete experience at UC San Diego, join up with the UC San Diego Lacrosse team or check out its huge booster club.
