The UCSD Ice Hockey Club is dedicated to the sport of hockey and competes in the Pacific Collegiate Hockey Association (PCHA) against colleges such as CSU Northridge, CSU Sacramento, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Northern Arizona University, College of the Canyons, Fresno State, and Santa Clara University. The PCHA is considered to be one of the most impressive and competitive leagues in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), which encompasses leagues nationwide.
The teams dedication to teamwork and winning has produced championships in the PCHA in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2006. With such success at the local level, the team has its sights set on the ACHA national tournament. The Tritons travelled to Santa Barbara to take on the Gauchos' enormous 20-man roster. They battled with their much shorter bench, but the Gauchos were able to maintain a 2 goal lead throughout most of the game. Read More >
