    UCSD vs Montana

After upsetting NorCal rival UC Davis, the Tritons went on to upset #9 Montana in a very exhilarating game. In the 1st quarter the Tritons and Grizzlies battled it out defensively, keeping the score 1-2 Grizzlies by the end of the 1st. The 2nd and 3rd quarters were more of the same, with the Grizzlies taking control with a 5-7 score at the end of the 3rd. Going into the 4th quarter the Tritons were looking for a rally, and a rally is what they got. With stellar defense, rides, and huge saves by MCLA D-2 Goalie of the Week, Haoxuan “Billy” Cui, the Tritons were able to keep the Grizzlies scoreless in the 4th quarter. Huge offensive plays by the Tritons granted them 3 goals, with the game-winner coming from Midfielder Gabriel “Brew” Brewster with 10 seconds left in the game. Commanding performances from Nick Krolikowski with a hat trick, Austin Ortel as usual with 1 goal and 4 dimes, “Brew” with 2 goals and 2 assists, and “Billy” with 15 saves and 68.2 save percentage. With this upset, the Tritons rise up in the D-2 ranks, becoming #15 in the nation.
