In response, Karan and Ganesh got UCSD off to a flyer, with Yash and vice-captain Aryaman consolidating well to get UCSD to 70/2 at the end of the 7 over powerplay. However, wickets continued to fall around Aryaman as the game got tight. Aryaman then launched an individual counterattack to get UCSD within meters of the target with a blistering 72 off 60 balls, but UCSD, unfortunately, fell 5 runs short.
