UC San Diego Women’s Club Rugby started their 2017 Golden Coast Conference season with a win over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, January 21st. Although the match was slow at first with multiple scrums happening back to back due to technical mistakes from both sides, the Tritons recovered quickly and scored multiple times in the first half. In the second half, the Triton covered a lot of ground on offense and defense by spread out wide and supporting each other. The final score was 57-0. With tries being score by many people and players going in and out of positions they aren’t accustomed to, it was considered a team win. The Tritons will host the next match against UCLA on Saturday, January 28th.
