Tritons Beat Trojans Handedly in 9-inning Game
Due to field conditions and some miscommunication, the Tritons ended up playing just one 9-inning game against the Trojans instead of two 7-inning games. Regardless, the Tritons came out swinging a hot bat and pitched well enough to cruise to a 13-6 victory. The offense was highlighted by senior Matt Davidson who hit a 3-run bomb in the 3rd inning. Newcomer, Shane Sudsbury also joined the home run club by hitting a solo shot to lead off the 7th inning in only his 3rd at-bat with the team. Senior Tommy Valles, junior Bobby Young, senior Matthew Demarest and senior Nathan Domico highlighted the early Triton scoring while freshman Connor Campigli, freshman Seamus Beyerle, freshman Nathanial Villareal, and freshman Cameron Wilkinson highlighted the later scoring. The Triton pitching staff held down the Trojans for the majority of the game lead by senior Andrew Hinkle, junior Yousef Koutnik, junior Kevin Nieh, senior Nathan Domico, sophomore Andrew Campos, and freshman David Cohen. The Tritons look forward to this upcoming weekend for their biggest fall weekend yet as they take part in the Cal State Fullerton Tournament on Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th at Boysen Park. Hope to see everyone out there!
