Sean Ryan Memorial Tournament

This past weekend November 14-15 the UC San Diego Women’s Ultimate team, the Psychos, braved fearsome LA traffic to drive to Sean Ryan Memorial Tournament in Santa Cruz.

In game one against UC Santa Cruz the Psychos took the first half 7-2 with some fantastic layout (diving) catches from Maria ‘Fluxx’ Zavala. Shout out to Dena ‘Chrome’ Elimelech for some amazing hucks helping finish the game with a 12-4 win.

The second game against the USC Hellions brought some familiar faces to support on the sidelines. Thank you Katrina ‘Tikka’ Kalantar, Sabina ‘Breezy’ Salian and Anya ‘Skittles’ Dee for coming out to support. USC played a great game but the Psychos came out on top again winning handily 10-5.

The last game of the day against Sonoma State the Psychos took half 7-4 with help from some awesome defense from all the rookies and a well-played “Rue” ki (Rookies + Rachel ‘Rue’ Ling) point.
