On Sunday, October 23, 2022, our team ventured to Playa Del Rey to participate in UCLA's Ironbriun triathlon. Located just South of Venice and North of Manhattan Beach, the race venue was stunning. We had athletes compete in the collegiate devision against competitors like UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSB.

With 2-3 foot surf, gnarly swim conditions were the first challenge of the race. While the waves were fierce, our TRItons were fiercer. Following our domination in the water was our conquest of the treacherous bike course. The 10 miles of pot-hole ridden asphalt were no match for our unrivaled speed and impeccable bike-handling skills, however. Our athletes soared bast bruins, anteaters, and bears, oh my! Finally, we reached the run leg of the race. Despite the sand, sweat, and salt that threatened to overtake us, every athlete pushed through to the finish---each embodying the true, tenacious TRIton spirit.
