10/12/24 - UCSD vs. USD
The first series of the year started with the tryout group showcasing their talents. The first game was off to a rocky start with a few errors causing the team to give up 6 unanswered runs. For many it was their first game in months, so once the rust was shaken off, they scored 9 runs and locked down their defense to win the first game. Both teams were warmed up for game two, but the Tritons came out scoring early in the game taking a 2-0 lead. However, USD put up 3 runs in later innings and the Triton’s found themselves down 3-2 going into the last inning. The Triton’s showed their resilience, getting early base runners and key at bats from Tyler Kong, who scored the tying run with two outs, and Dylan White with a walk off single to secure the win.
These games were proof that our tryout class not only has talent, but their team chemistry and culture was exactly what we were looking for. With many of those guys being added to the team, we look to make a big impact this year.
