UCSD lost the toss and were put into bat first. They got a decent start and were looking good. However, after losing one of the opening batters in the third over, the middle order collapsed without scoring many runs. Raunak Saluja (23 off 34) and Kulveer Setya (17 off 14) helped UCSD reach 100 runs. In the second innings, UCSD got a dream start as they put the UCI batters under great pressure. The bowlers continued picking up wickets in frequent intervals which made it tough for the UCI batters. Kulveer Setya (3.0-0-2-11) and Vishnu Babu Guturu (3-0-2-19) were the pick of the bowlers. Unfortunately, the score was too low to defend even with a great bowling attack and UCSD ended up losing by 1 wicket in the last over.
