Due to the LA wildfire outbreak, UCSD BC-Co decided to withdraw from Santa Barbara Qualifiers due to safety concerns driving through LA. Instead, a handful of the team decided to volunteer with Duck Duck Roar to help organize donation items to send to various evacuation shelters in LA. There were three groups sent to three different locations: BayHo, Linda Vista, and Kensington. BC-Co and volunteers from the community organized items by food, baby supplies, clothes, toiletries, medical supplies, etc. There was an overwhelming amount of donation items, so much so that some items had to be turned away. At the end of the day, BC-Co learned more about relief efforts and helped provide aid to victims of the wildfire.
