4/5/25 - UCLA Tournament
This was a really fun tournament for UCSD and a great way to start the Spring quarter. Our first game was against UCLA where we had a dominant start, going up 6-0 at the end of the first. We started to slow down and our lazy defense let them get back in the game, but we still won pretty easily toward the end. Our next game was against Boston who came out strong, staying behind by only one point at the half. Despite the close score at the half, we started hitting more shots and pulled away with the victory. We started off day 2 against UC Berkeley which got off to a hot start for both teams as they each traded points for most of the game. However, Berkelely only had two subs so their squad began to fatigue and we capitalized on this to come away with a win. Our only loss on the weekend came against ECA in easily the most competitive game of the weekend. They didn’t have enough players to field a full team, so we had two of ours play for them so we could still have a game. Overall, it was a great weekend and we are looking forward to our next tournament in Santa Barbara.
