The Tritons came into the game looking for a win against their rivals to secure their place in regionals. Right out of the gate SDSU showed it was not going to be an easy task. While UCSD were able to connect well between their midfielders and their back line, the team struggled to create opportunities in the final third. The Tritons were lucky to come out of the half 0-0, as SDSU had their chances to go ahead early after a couple of defensive mental errors. UCSD narrowly edges out this thriller against SDSU in a 2-1 win.
