12/7 - Game vs UC Berkeley
Tritons would start this game off with a goal from sophomore Alex Nakashima on the first UCSD shot of the game only 40 seconds in. UC Berkeley would respond with 3 goals, one of which was a powerplay goal. Sean Miller would score off a faceoff to make the game 2-3, finishing the first. At the end of the first, a penalty against UCSD would put the Tritons on the back foot for 5 minutes, which would partially carry over into the first minute of the second period. UCSD would kill off this 5 minute major however, throughout the second, undisciplined penalties cost the Tritons 2 goals and loss of momentum, with the penalties that were killed off causing top lines to lose valuable 5 on 5 ice time. UC Berkeley would score 6 in the second, and UCSD only scored once during a powerplay goal from med student Liam Fitzgerald for his first of the season. The 3rd period would be much more even, with only a few penalties, allowing Tritons to get to work in 5 5 play in UC Berkeley's zone. 5th-year Andrew Chua would score one in the 3rd, and the Tritons had several grade-A scoring chances. UC Berkeley would score 2 goals, with 1 being a power-play goal. UCSD would finish the game 4-10, hampered by penalties and loss of momentum from the second period.
