On Saturday, January 25th, four members of the UCSD Triathlon team competed in the UCSD Tritonman draft-legal race at Tecolote Shores. On Sunday, January 26th, the same four members, plus 10 additional members, competed in the classic race. Saturday’s draft-legal race had a cancelled swim, leading to a 1-mile run replacing the standard swim section. The classic race on Sunday kept to the normal sprint distance format. 

UCSD Triathlon performed well, with multiple athletes finishing in the top ten in both days of racing. On the men’s side, Jacob Wolf and Dmitriy Major both finished in the top ten in the classic race. On the women’s side, Siwen Cui and Shaina King secured top-ten finishes over both days, with Shaina King achieving a third-place podium finish in the classic race. With another strong showing, the team is looking to continue its performance in the fall into the rest of the season.
