Become a Team Building Facilitator

The UCSD Challenge Course seeks dedicated individuals to hire and train as facilitators. Ideal applicants for this position are UC San Diego students who possess a combination of both interpersonal skills and a desire to become outdoor leaders.

Application Process:

  1. Group Interviews - Following your application, group interviews will be scheduled based on interviewee availability in the weeks prior to the experience day and then training. The Challenge Course office will let you know your interview date and time.
  2. Experience Day - Here you will spend the day experiencing the Challenge Course, learning the details of what it is like to work for the Challenge Course, and determining if this is a good fit for you.
  3. Training - Qualified applicants will attend a 40-plus-hour training. Future employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of training. Attending training itself does not guarantee work.
  4. Shadowing - Following the free training, new facilitators will begin shadowing experienced facilitators and can expect to work between 6-30 hours/week during our busy season of May through October. Hours vary from November through June.
