UC San Diego’s women’s rugby team played their first away game of the season against UCLA this last weekend. The Tritons had a fast start but ultimately succumbed to UCLA losing the game with a final score of 38-14.
The Lady Tritons came out strong in the first half of the game and scored the first two trys of the game. The scored stayed this way until the end of the quarter when UCLA scored to enter halftime with a score of UCSD 14 – UCLA 7 going into the second half.
The second half of the game started with a slower pace. UCLA scored a try 55 minutes into the game and after a successful conversion kick, the game was tied. As the second half went on, UCSD began to struggle defensively ultimately contributing to the final score of UCSD 14 -UCLA 38.
