This past Saturday the Tritons drove a mighty 8+ hours to face competitors San Jose State and UC Santa Cruz. The Tritons defeated San Jose State 10-3, but due to weather conditions, were unable to play against UCSC.
The weekend had a different theme as starters got a chance to rest their legs and newbies got the chance to try out new positions on the field. Freshmen Blair McGarrigle and Julie Martinez dominated attack, while Jenna Hazen took draws and dominated the midfield! Attacker, Danielle Viviani got to take the draw and suspend her assist hiatus with three assists (woohoo)! The low defenders missed their teammate, Demi Greiner, who was recovering from a back injury.
Usual attacker Michaela Juels played low defense and goalie Maria McCavitts had a high save rate, even though she did not get to play field as she had desired.
Even without their second game versus Santa Cruz, this weekend was immensely valuable in terms of team bonding! The Tritons were able to do quality team bonding activities, get boba and go thrift shopping! The Tritons are motivated to finish their season strong!
