On November 18th, we had our 2nd show of the ’17-18 season at Cal Poly Pomona. We competed against Cal Poly Pomona, UCLA, Mt. SAC, and University of Arizona. We had our captain, Samantha Watts, in the Novice Class; Elena Browne and Arianna Gorman in the Intermediate 2 Class; and Yutong Qiu in the Beginner Class. We also brought one of our lesson horses, a dun mare named Glo. In the morning, Samantha won 2nd place on a paint gelding named Chex from UCLA. Elena rode a small paint mare named Sugar and won 5th place. Yutong rode a chestnut gelding named Prince and won 4th place. In the afternoon, Arianna rode a flea-bitten grey gelding named Cavi and won 6th place in her first Western show. Elena rode Chex and won 3rd place. Yutong rode Prince again and won 1st place in her first Western show. This show was a wonderful success with a special thanks to our assistant coach, Geneva Pina and the owner of Glo, Hunter Conroy; we couldn’t have done it without y’all!
