This past Friday the UCSD Women’s Lacrosse Team had their first season opener against CSU San Marcos. From the start, the game went back and forth with goals being exchanged between UCSD and San Marcos in a pattern that would follow until halftime. At the beginning of the second half, San Marcos pulled ahead by 3 goals. With victory now slipping out of their hands, they rebounded by mounting an impressive 6-0 run against San Marcos with goals from Jen Daluz, Jiyoung Yun, Janet Gleason, and Rachel Teitelbaum. The Tritons never looked back, finishing off the game with an 11-9 win against San Marcos. Throughout the game the Tritions boasted impressive transitions, team effort and defensive stops. Beating San Marcos in their first league game was the first step for the Tritons in their road to Nationals.
