UCSD WINS SEASON OPENER VS UCI 3-1
The Tritons faced up against UCI in their first game of fall league. The Tritons clearly showed domination of the game, almost scoring a goal within the first 15 seconds off of an amazing play by Jorge Gomez, Michael Boychuk, and Will Ross. About 10 minutes in, Will Ross somehow managed to score off of one of the slowest shots ever recorded. Then, 10 minutes later, striker Paul Jasper scored a lovely tap in from a clinical Michael Boychuk cross.
UCI would fight back, netting a goal past goalkeeper Austin Cozzi, but the Tritons wouldn’t back down.
Entering the second half, the score was 2-1. UCSD’s possession of the ball dwindled as UCI started pressing higher. That wouldn’t stop Martin Flores from connecting with Yanis Chenna to score a beautiful volley. 3-1 Tritons. The two teams would battle back and forth but no goals would come, where UCSD took home their first of many W's this season.
