UCSD vs Weekenders
UCSD won the toss and elected to bat first in the 30-over fixture against the Weekenders. A disciplined bowling performance from the visiting side put UCSD into some trouble, with the scorecard reading 68-5 at the end of the 14th over, but an 87-run partnership between Ishan Banerjee and Yash Patki resurrected the innings and helped UCSD put up 171 in their 30 overs. Although 171 was a below-par score on Muir Field, 171 was a total that could be defended, and a far better score than what UCSD were looking at when they were teetering at 68/5. Ishan Banerjee top scored for UCSD with 50, with Yash and Pramaan both chipping in with thirties as well. In response, UCSD's bowlers started well, taking 2 powerplay wickets upfront, but lost control pretty quickly in the middle overs. UCSD kept the wickets coming occasionally, but the runs were too few at the end of the day. Overall, a good experience for the team and a good game experience for both sides.
