    UCSD vs UC Davis

Starting their spring break off with a bang, the Tritons beat their UC rivals, UC Davis, 12-8. The Tritons started strong, putting up 5 goals in the first quarter and Davis responded with three of their own. The Tritons continued pushing during the second quarter, growing their lead to 8-4 by halftime but seemed to find a more even match in the second half when both teams put up 4 goals. While the game was close at the faceoff X, with Davis winning 14 of the 24 faceoffs, San Diego demonstrated their offensive prowess by putting up 37 shots on goal, almost doubling Davis’s 20 shots on goal. Alexander Franz and Finn Reid ran up the scoreboard, each putting in 4 goals, while Austin Ortel fed dimes all day long, totaling one goal and 4 assists. Nick Krowlikowski and Gabe Brewster also contributed to the Triton’s win over Davis, putting up two assists and two goals respectively. Goalie Bill Cui led the defense, saving 12 out of 20 shots on goal. With this win, UCSD has proven that they are indeed a force to be reckoned with in MCLA D-2.
