UCSD vs Legion Academy Game
The Tritons got a chance once again to play against the U23 Legion academy consisting of some of the best players from Southern California. A number of our UCSD players also play for the Legion Academy, but this time they were proud to represent their school and defend their home field.
This game can best be described as a learning experience. While the official scoreline was not pretty, the Tritons fought hard until the end, and even scored two tries, both coming from captain and president Bailey Schantz. Many of our new players gained invaluable experience playing against one of the most talented sides in the nation, many of whom have been playing rugby all their life. The Tritons are looking forward to getting back in action and using this experience to propel them to the next level before they start their league season.
UCSD scored 12 points but ended up losing by a lot.
