The UCSD Triton's Men’s Lacrosse team played a “Free-Agent Team” last Tuesday as part of their ongoing preseason fall league. The Triton's fell 1 to 7 to the team consisting of several local Men’s Club players, alumni, and college players.

The game highlighted several weaknesses in the Tritons defense including backside coverage and defensive communication, all of which are expected for a squad that has only been playing for several weeks. Individual talent, however, looked fantastic as Senior and Captain Matteo “Shortstick” Liebman recorded 4 turnovers, Sophomore Liam “Fratstar” Mathers recorded a pair of takeaways, and Freshman LSM Cam “The Caramel Cat” Parsa snagged an easy 4 groundballs.

The Triton's offense likewise had a fair share of communication trouble and inconvenient unforced turnovers, however several possessions showed what this group could look like once they are more comfortable playing together.

The Tritons will look to make their flashes of brilliance last an entire game against San Diego rival SDSU this Tuesday the 29th. Get ready to get spooky!
