While UCSD was hoping to finish the season undefeated, they fell short of that title in their Sunday game against USC. They fought hard and played well, but were unable to score a goal in the circle while their competitor, USC, scored twice. Despite not fulfilling their hopes of bringing home a win for their seniors in their final home game, UCSD was proud of the skill and effort they put forth. Captains Madison Ghiz and Abby Sumi — among the seniors leaving after this season — noted how this loss wouldn’t define their season as UCSD remains in first place. With one away game left before they head to Cal Poly for playoffs, UCSD is confident they will end the season on a strong note.
