UCSD stuns at UCLA Yates Invitational

The UCSD gymnastics team traveled to UCLA to show off their routines in the UCLA Yates Invitational alongside UCLA and USC. The team had 14 athletes competing across three Women’s Artistic Gymnastics levels including XCEL Silver, XCEL Platinum and level 8 and the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics levels 7 and 9. There were many gymnasts who competed in their first meet for the club team including freshmen Nicole Constan, Natalia Bias, Kristina Ma and Abby Boyers, sophomore Sydney Kundert and juniors Grace Bost and Cannon Wurster. The Women’s events started off the invitational with many athletes debuting new routines including sophomore Sarah Mackey on vault, Abby and senior Tomoharu Tanaka on uneven bars, Grace on beam and Nicole on floor. The Men’s event athletes finished strong with junior Constance Zanze showing new routines on floor, vault and high bar as well as Cannon debuting his level 9 floor routine. It was a great meet this season and the team had an amazing time. Everyone performed beautifully and hopes to keep the good energy and momentum going as the team heads to Nationals this spring.
