UCSD Starts Season Strong at Skills Exhibition
The UCSD Gymnastics Team started their season off strong with an exhibition hosted by the team, partnered with the YMCA. The exhibition was a time for team members to showcase their skills and routines as they gear up for competition season. Some members performed their routines while others came to watch and show their support. Overall, the gym was full of fun, excitement, encouragement, and excellent gymnastics. The exhibition had a great turnout and consisted of the largest number of people showing routines since before COVID.
Most gymnastics events were represented at the exhibition including floor, vault, beam, uneven bars, pommel horse, rings, and high bar; all of these events had very strong showcased routines. In addition to showing skills, there were several upgrades and new routines performed on floor by Sarah Mackey, on bars by Tessa Gluckman and on pommel horse by Annika Sy.
Freshman Natalia Bais, sophomores Sydney Kundert and Lydia Pannell, and juniors Grace Bost and Cannon Wurster showed their first routines for UCSD, and performed beautifully on their respective events.
