UCSD Sailing travels up north for the St. Francis Invitational
The Tritons recently participated in the St. Francis Invite, which took place in San Francisco Bay and was hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club. The conditions during the regatta were challenging, with strong currents from tides, erratic gusts building to 20 knots, and rain. Despite these conditions, UCSD Sailing was determined to perform their best and establish a solid foundation for future regattas.
Throughout the regatta, UCSD worked together as a team to navigate the currents and wind, making strategic decisions to position themselves for success. They faced tough competition from the other teams, but remained focused on their goals and worked hard to execute the plan.
In the end, the Triton’s hard work paid off, finishing 7th overall. UCSD Sailing clinched a berth to conference championships in Hawaii this April, where they hope to continue to build on their success.
Overall, the St. Francis Invite was a challenging yet rewarding experience, and the Tritons are proud of their sailors for showing great determination and skill in the face of tough conditions.
