UCSD Sailing Team Bravely Takes on the Anteater Open
Ahoy current and future Sailors, this past weekend our beloved UCSD Sailing Team bravely took on the Anteater Open, kindly hosted by UC Irvine in Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA. The regatta was promising with a lot of cool people from different universities showing up. Unfortunately, the Gods of the sea had cursed us with winds as unreliable as that guy that always needs money and disappears for weeks before giving you half of the amount owed! Anyways, the Saturday winds were - “Heavy and insanely shifty”, and Sunday was even worse, with winds weaker than my will to study and very, very shifty, like jeez what’s wrong with you, did someone kick your nana in the shins? Regardless, UCSD scored the fifth total and with the overall best group being Sun Gods (Best costumes, thank you randomizer) and the best performing group is Tritons.
Lastly, I would like to say that even with horrible winds, the Anteater was a success, with a lot of new sailors having a chance to compete in the regatta and gain more experience with racing in more serious conditions than usual training performed back at our super-secret naval base. We would like to thank UC Irvine for hosting the Anteater Open, for everyone to enjoy!
