The Tritons traveled to LMU to play a very tough match against them before the season starts. The first half of the game had the Tritons on their back-foot playing defense for most of the game. After numerous saves and trying to get back into the groove, the Tritons were able to end the first half only conceding two scores. The Tritons came back with a fierce offense in the second half with Amir Elfiky dropping into the try and George McMahon scoring the conversion. LMU was able to score another few tries after mistakes from the Tritons but the Tritons were able to score another try and converting the conversion to bring the score to a 14-20 deficit. With the Tritons only one score from winning, they began to play more aggressive but also made more mistakes for LMU to capitalize on them. They took advantage of them and was able to hit a penalty kick to pat their lead and ran out the clock to score a try in the last second after a Triton offence. With the loss, the Tritons were able to see their mistakes that cost them the game and won’t let them happen again in the start of the season against APU.
