UC San Diego Men’s Club Soccer put in a dominant performance to beat league minnows USD in the opening game of the 2017 Fall league season on October 1st. Strikers Jonah Gooden and Ben Tsuda each bagged a brace (scored two goals for our American fans) to cap off some excellent attacking displays. Although the players from UCSD were not in tip-top shape, the quality of the team was very apparent as USD failed to create any chances in the first half. A scrappy second-half goal spoiled a clean sheet but the Tritons’ spirits were not dampened as fans remained in full voice throughout the match and celebrated with the squad after the final whistle.
