This weekend, on October 4th, the UC San Diego Hockey Club faced off against their alumni in a weekend of fun comradery. The alumni, from all across UC San Diego’s generations, flew back to San Diego for a weekend to get to reunite with their former teammates and meet the new generation. In a hard fought game both teams ended off with a tie 9-9. It was a tough game as the new UC San Diego squad had a mere six players they were cycling through. They fought against the alumni, some of whom returned from this past season. Led by Dylan Shives, the team captain, the Tritons managed to pull off a tie in the last minute. However, in the end, as the alumni and new team huddled together for all the post-game pictures, it was obvious the real reason for the weekend was to unite together a bunch of hockey loving UC San Diego alumni and have a great skate. We want to thank those alumni who came out and made this weekend possible. The Tritons now look forward to the start of the season, as they travel to play Ventura this upcoming Saturday.
