UCSD Cricket Wins by 32 runs Against UCI

UCSD takes on UCI on a sunny day at Muir Field. UCI won the toss and elected to bowl first. UCSD's inning started well as both the opening batsmen looked in good touch, before losing their first wicket in the 5th over. UCSD's Ishan Banerjee continued with his excellent form and scored 36 runs briskly, before getting out to an excellent delivery by Suvrat from UCI. The Triton’s kept on losing regular wickets, but Himanshu Pykurel and Gautam Gautam managed to control the innings in the middle and scored runs at a decent rate. UCSD's lower order also contributed with a few runs to help their team post a respectable total on the board. Dheya Desai and Aarji Gore were the pick of the bowlers for UCI. However, UCI's batsmen couldn't manage to begin their run chase on a good note as they kept on losing wickets at quick intervals. They managed to control the pressure during the middle overs, but struggled to score runs at a decent run rate. UCSD bowlers were brilliant throughout the innings to keep the pressure on the batsmen. Despite a fighting effort from UCI batsmen, they couldn't manage to chase down the target. Almost every bowler picked wickets in their tally, but Karan Side was the pick of the bowlers for UCSD as he picked 3 wickets for just 22 runs in 4 overs. UCSD won by a convincing margin of 32 runs.
