UCSD Best Local Rivals In a Thrilling Match

UCSD took on their hometown rivals, SDSU, in another round of the San Diego Clasico. In addition to the rivalry, the event was also made a "Pink-Out" Game, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Much like the typical UCSD vs. SDSU matchup, the game was heated and very chippy. Both teams came out with heart and desire to win. SDSU got onto the scoreboard first with a towering header at the back post from a corner kick. Although down a goal, the Tritons didn't let that rattle them as Grad Forward Ben Tsuda pulls a goal back for UCSD. With lots of other close chances and near misses on goal, the Tritons were ready to score in the second half, as the first ended 1-1. Early in the second half, the Tritons took the lead after Grad Forward Kyle Vigil got his head onto the ball and knocked it into the net. The game continued to get more and more chippy as the game went on. UCSD was able to hold onto the lead and secure a 2-1 win over their San Diego Rivals.
