UCSD Beats CSU Long Beach 5-2 in Great Team Effort!
UCSD traveled up the coast this weekend to play CSU Long Beach in a thrilling game! The first half started off strong with two goals in the first ten minutes from left forward Savannah Arabe, both assisted by long balls into the box from right back Jordan Needham!
UCSD maintained a 2-0 lead for the rest of the first half and was able to play goalkeeper Grace Taylor at right wing where she made a huge impact! Right forward Roxanne Victoria had a beautiful shot that hit the cross bar close to the end of the half.
In the second half, CSU Long Beach began to bring the pressure but with two perfect goals from forward Mia Fava and one snuck in the back post from left wing Veronica Yonce, Long Beach’s two goals were not enough to break UCSD’s momentum. Goalkeeper Dahlia Scher made an appearance at right forward during this half and helped tremendously up top! The final score was 5-2 and the Tritons left Long Beach with an uplifting win.
