UCI Wins Game against UCI by 2 Wickets!

In a closely fought cricket match, UCSD took on UCI at Peterson Field. UCSD won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a steady start, but UCI's bowlers quickly got into their stride and started picking up wickets at regular intervals. Viv Tiwari provided some resistance with a gritty knock of 46 runs off 38 balls, while Crish Chengappa made a quick 22 runs off just 16 balls. However, UCSD could only manage to score 141 runs before being bowled out in the 19th over.

In response, UCI started off cautiously, with their openers putting up a steady partnership. However, UCSD's bowlers struck back and took some crucial wickets to put the pressure on UCI. But Ishan Lakhia had other plans as he held his nerves and batted sensibly to score 37 runs off 38 balls. He also picked up 5 wickets in just 4 overs for a measly 18 runs to turn the game in UCI's favor. With some handy contributions from the lower order, UCI eventually won the match by 2 wickets with just one ball to spare.

Shrimant Singh was the pick of the bowlers for UCSD, taking 3 wickets in just 3 overs for only 17 runs, while Karan Sidhu also chipped in with 2 wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs. Despite the loss, both players put up a valiant effort in trying to defend their total. Nevertheless, it was Ishan Lakhia's all-round performance that earned him the player of the match award.
