The Tritons faced off against the USD ice hockey game for the first time in several seasons. Within the first five minutes of the first period, the Tritons kick off the scoring with a goal from Kevin Schiltz. The game remained tightly contested and physical during the opening period.

Halfway through the second period, Liam Jablonksi from UCSD makes a slick move past two of the opposing players and scores a beautiful goal up high on the goaltender. At this point the score is at 2-0 in favor of the Tritons, and a big part of that is due to freshman goaltender Nolan Karma who was doing everything to keep the University of San Diego from getting on the board.

The third period effectively maintains the fast pace from earlier in the game. Around five minutes into the final period, Stefan Jovanovic nets one off of a nice play from the Tritons. USD is able to quickly respond as they get a goal of their own from a deflected shot. The final result of the game ended at 4-1 as Liam Jablonski got his second of the night with thirty seconds remaining in the game.
