UC San Diego vs UC Los Angeles
UC San Diego won the toss and decided to bat first on Muir Field. Despite the wet field from the previous day's rain, UCSD opener Himanshu Pykural started strong, utilizing the limited number of fielders outside in the powerplay. Himanshu's quick-fire 38 (22) gave UCSD a good start and allowed the other players to take some time to settle into their position. UCLA managed to slow down the momentum after the powerplay and take continuous wickets, preventing long partnerships. UCSD reached a total of 139, bowled out during the 24th over in this 30-over game. In response, UCSD started well with Karan Sidhu leading the bowling attack from the front. Taking key wickets off the first few UCLA batsmen, Karan put UCSD in the front seat during the powerplay. However, a good partnership between the UCLA skipper and their key batsman allowed UCLA to gain momentum and confidence. Karan broke the dangerous partnership, picking up his first 5-wicket haul in his UCSD career with this wicket. UCLA played well, scoring steady runs and avoiding losing wickets at crucial points, eventually coming out on top. This ended yet another close game, this time UCLA triumphant over UCSD for the first time at Muir.
