It was a mismatch from the start as league leaders UC San Diego traveled to last-place UCR for their fifth league match on October 15. The game was dominated by the Tritons from the start as UCR had no response to the passing and moving. After a few minutes of ball movement the goals started to come and did not stop until the match ended. UC San Diego finished the game with 8 goals while UCR was only able to muster a couple of shots on target. With this result, UC San Diego is now at a record-high goals per game ratio and are sitting pretty at the top of the table. A positive result this coming weekend (draw or win) will give the Triton’s the league title!
