UC San Diego came to Regionals hoping to win the tournament and qualify for Nationals. They started off with a solid 1-0 win against University of Texas, El Paso. With the condensed groups, that win put the Tritons into the knockout round with their other group game left to play. UC San Diego lost to Cal Poly 4-0, but the game was of little importance because both teams were moving on to the next round. On Sunday, UC San Diego needed to get revenge against Long Beach to have a shot at making Nationals. Going up a goal early the Tritons stumbled after halftime and gave up 4 unanswered goals. They pulled one back the end to make the score a little less lopsided, but the damage had been done. The Tritons had their Regional tournament ended with a 4-2 loss to Long Beach. Fall season is over for the men’s team, but the women’s team made Nationals. Please donate to help them get to Alabama.
