UC San Diego Berserk had one full week of practice before heading up north to Santa Barbara Quals tournament on the first weekend of winter quarter. Because our school started a month later than most schools, it was definitely going to be a challenge to keep up with everyone who has been practicing before us. However, our team worked together and fought long and hard to stand up against those teams. Our dedication and our spirit enabled us to actually beat some of those teams. We won 4 and lost 2 games which is a big step forward from last year season at this same tournament. The goal of this tournament was to provide learning opportunities for our rookies and they were able to learn a lot from stepping up to the challenge. We hope to continue growing and improving our game and our chemistry with one another.
