The win, YUGE! The goals, YUGE! The fans, MASSIVE! The ratings, YUGE! Saturday night, February 25th, UC San Diego made soccer great again with a massive drubbing of Point Loma. The Tritons came out firing in the opening game of the annual SD Cup. The Tritons are in a group with Point Loma and SDSU B, and wanted to make a statement to intimidate the other participants. The Triton’s poured on the pressure early, but couldn’t convert simple chances. The deadlock was broken when Kenan “Slothy Body” Mesic scored two headed goals off of beautiful assists from Youcef “Yak Yak” Rezagui and Firas “The Boss” Eid. “Slothy Body” Mesic decided to return the favor with a brilliant assist to Christian “Buddhist” Gunther who banged a volley into the back of the net. Youcef “Yak Yak” Rezagui setup Rohan “Bruhhhhhhhhhh” Oprisko who converted his opportunity efficiently. RJ “Jose Jr.” Rupp put in a lot of work for UC San Diego and was rewarded with a goal (Jaime assisted, but didn’t want credit because he’s that kind of guy). Danny Jacobs continued a beautiful run of performances with an assist to setup his #1 cheerleader Jonathan “Random Screams” Clausen. UC San Diego 6. Point Loma 1. The SD Clasico is Saturday at San Diego State.
